nick vujicic was reallyreallyreally inspiring.
it's hard to put the emotions that he brought about in me into words,
he's like this really amazing guy.
his sermon/speech/whatever brought about a different view for me in life,
like changing from wearing sunglasses to clear glass specs,
the world has become much more different;
like there is more than just outward appearences.
first consider this question,
"what would you rather have,
a hell of a time going to heaven, or,
a heaven of a time going to hell?"
more often than not, we blame God for the bad things that happen to us;
what we may not see is that God is building us up for our future,
and wanting us to learn fron the bad experience.
FEAR: false evidence appearing real
it hit me.
being afraid; who hasn't?
but how many have overcome it?
and out of these,
how many have totally overcame that fear with God?
and FAITH: for assurance in the heart

"i see the table, i know i'm safe and won't fall, so i take a step;
but what happens if somehow i don't see the table anymore,
how would i know that i'll be safe?"
though God plays a large part in our faith,
faith doesn't have to be spiritual,
faith can be as simple as believing in yourself;
believing that that step can bring you further;
just like ann's dm:
Take steps, take enough of them and you're somewhere.
likewise,
believe in God,
that He has a plan for you;
even if that step that you take makes you fall,
believe that God has a plan to bring you back up again.
you must receive before you get
it's like a written cheque.
i wrote it,
and hold it right in front of you,
but if you don't make the effort to receive it,
you would never get the amount stated on it.
in the same sense,
if you don't draw close to God,
God won't draw close to you,
and thus you would not follow the plan He has made for you,
for you have never gotten close enough to see it clearly.
your relationship with God is not dependant on Him alone,
you, too, must make the effort to get close to Him;
afterall, what's a relationship that's one-sided?
Courage is when you do something afraid
(they should have told me this earlier, can use for mockingbird essay x:)
just like mrs dubose in to kill a mockingbird:
she knew that she might not succeed in kicking the addiction,
she knows that she might dies in trying to,
and thus she must, assumingly, be afraid of death;
but she still tried,
for she believed that she must die without being tied down with anything.
another example,
atticus finch:
he knew very well that by taking tom robinson's case,
he might lose everything that he has;
for he is defending a negro.
he knew that tom would most probably lose the case,
and thus he would be mocked at for taking it in the first place,
but his firm believe that the blacks and the whites were equal made him accept it.
his believe that God made all men equal;
despite their tones,
made atticus a great man.
encouragement makes a man have more courage;
likewise, discouragement makes a man has less.
and discouragement comes in many forms,
the most visable one in our lives would be teasing:
who hasn't been teased before?
amidst all the other meanings,
teasing: 2. To make fun of; mock playfully
in short,
to put someone down.
quoting from nick,
"sure, it's fun to tease someone,
but what if you're the one being teased,
how would you feel?"
that really hit me (again.)
probably because i am guilty of teasing.
for fun, between friends, whatever reasons i give,
the truth still holds.
(i forgot what nick said about teasing being a sin,
but i know it made an impression on me,
so wait until i rmb, haha. anw,)
forgiveness starts with a prayer,
for the only way to wash away a sin,
is with God.

something you have or you don't that hinders you;

you have to be broken before you can be saved.
just like you have to lose to learn to cherish,
to fall before you learn to walk,
to see darkness before you can see the light,
to bear with the night, so that you can see the stars.
if God doesn't give you a miracle today,
he is preparing you for the miracle.
if he still hasn't given you the miracle,
you might be the miracle for someone else
like nick vujicic and that little boy who had the exact same condition as him.
it answered nick's question of
"if You loved me like You loved the other children,
why did you give me less?"
the answer was nick was made to give hope to many, many other people;
to let them see the light at the end of the tunnel through God's Word.
Learn the secret of being content
i used to think that i didn't have enough,
but after seeing Nick,
and hearing his Testimony,
i think i had more than i deserved.
quoting Nick again,
"i AM the world's richest man, because i am a servant
(but wait, servants don't earn very much, do they?),
but because i am the servant of the GREATEST God,
in which everything belonged to Him,
and because i am His son, i would inherit all these,
and thus i AM the world's richest man,
for i have inherited eternal life."
When you hold on to God, God will hold on to you;
similarly,
When you do your best, God would do the rest.
faith and courage combined may not create a miracle,
but it would create a victory,
in which victory is when you know that you're not alone,
but when you know that God is with you.

Great Men are not always perceived in the same way
many people think that Bill Gates is great because he is rich;
Obama is great because he has broken all odds and became the first
negro president of USA;
YaoMing is great, because he is the tallest man and a world-known basketball player;
Thomas Edison is great because he's smart and invented lightbulbs;
but i think that Nicholas Vujicic is great,
not because he's any of the above,
but because he has overcame the odds against him
-made even worst by the circumstance given to him by the Lord-
he overcame those odds,
and through the Lord inspired many, MANY other people,
and brought hope to so many more who needed it.
Nick Vujicic was a great man in many small ways.
he has taught me that the world holds so much more than normally perceived,
and that the only way to see this world clearly is to
walk by faith and not by sight.
Conqueror: Someone who is victorious by force of arms
"Life is filled with many ups and downs,
many sunshines and storms.
I may not be a conqueror, but with God, I am an eagle.
I am more than a conqueror,
for i do not need to conquer the storm before I feel the sunshine above the clouds."
